Team Leader for Slopes and Trails
We are looking for a team leader who wants to lead and develop the work within Slopes and Trails in Åre – both summer and winter.
As a team leader, you have a central role in the daily operations and ensure that work flows smoothly by leading the team, distributing tasks, and ensuring that routines are followed. You are responsible for having the right people in the right place at the right time, ensuring that both staff and production function smoothly.
During the winter season, the role includes ensuring snow production and preparation of slopes and cross-country tracks. In the summer, you will work on ground maintenance in the bike park, hiking trails, and other outdoor areas within the ski area.
Main Responsibilities
The team leader is responsible for ensuring that the daily operations within Slopes & Trails function effectively, safely, and according to set goals. The role involves leading, supporting, and coaching employees in their daily work and ensuring the quality of delivery to our guests.
Responsibilities include creating and following up on routines, planning and conducting training sessions, staff meetings, and conversations, as well as being a present leader in the operations. The role also involves close collaboration with other leaders and departments.
The team leader reports to the area manager and is part of the department's leadership group. The role requires a confident and clear leader with a strong interest in working with people and developing the team.
Working in a slope and trail environment involves many parallel activities and rapid changes, making it important to handle stress, make decisions, and prioritize correctly when the pace is high. An unpretentious approach and willingness to contribute where needed are central.
The role suits a person with good collaboration skills, engagement, and a professional attitude towards both guests and colleagues.
Qualifications / Education:
- You have previous experience in similar leadership roles with similar responsibilities.
- Driver's license (Category B) for manual transmission vehicles.
Meritorious
- Previous work and knowledge in the tourism industry or operation of ski facilities.
- Knowledge of SkiStar's operations.
- Driving license for snowmobiles.
Start date: May 1, 2026
Employment type: Permanent with a 6-month probationary period.
The work requires a high operational presence in daily operations, which means that work on weekends and, to some extent, evenings may occur.
Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
We believe that working with memorable mountain experiences year-round is the best there is!
Our staff is our greatest asset. A shared commitment and a strive to create a great mountain experience for our guests is a big part of our success. With us, you can be yourself and have fun while delivering significant results together with fantastic colleagues.
At SkiStar, we have more than 700 year-round employees who work together in areas such as sales, finance, operations, activities, IT, administration, accommodation brokerage, property services, and marketing. During the winter season, we also have over 2,700 seasonal employees.
